Great looking birds indeed ! Good action shot . Maybe a little tight in the frame but no big deal.

Great looking image Tim. Love the colours on the birds and the interaction. Would love to see a better HA on the flying bird. Well done and thanks for sharing

Hi Tim, glad you finally got things uploaded.

It's a wee bit tight all round, if this is a crop then I would pull out a bit more, (always add in the intro if this is a crop, big or small). I think it has suffered in the same way as the baboon, but hopefully things will slowly be addressed now you know what to lookout for.

BTW Was this 'young' Brendon C?

Hi Wil, Thank you for your input.....Those birds fly like the wind and have to be some of the most difficult to capture to you have to shoot multiple frames and hope that one or two just do the job...

Please explain HA ? Not sure what this means please?

    Thanks again.

    Regards

Hi Steve, Phew! Yup, I eventually got things sorted...

I agree the crop was a little tight but I did it that way to try and compose a little better....Point taken though and I will watch out for that going forward.

Not sure about your question " Was this Brendon C?".... I guess you mean Brendon Cremer? No... we did the trip with Grant Atkinson and Guts Swanepoel on the Pangolin Photo Safaris boat which is actually based in Kasane ( Botswana )

Steve, thanks for being so patient and pointing out the areas for improvement.. I really do appreciate all the input and time taken to help.. It really has been noted and will be applied...

    Regards
    Tim

Hi Tim, you should check his Carmine Bee eaters out. Yep know Bots well, just working on something over the next few months I hope on that score. With the 1Dx there are some excellent setting options for this, Arash & David S are guys you need to look at & perhaps get a Arash's PDF too for BIF?

I'm sure somewhere there is a thread on acronyms somewhere???

    Hi Steve,

Many thanks for these abreviations....Now that makes a lot more sense...

Yes I am familiar with Brendon's work and his stuff is seriously good... I am a great fan of his work as well as guys like Morkel Erasmus, Grant Atkinson, Guts Swanepoel.... We have many really good 'Togs down here and just to aspire to their levels is a great motivating factor.

I don't know Arash or David S but will check their stuff out as I find just seeing other people's work is inspirational and never too proud to admit that I need lots of improvement...

    Best regards
    Tim

BTW: The Carmines nest in October and this year we will return on our own as the Pangolin guys were all booked by the guys who missed it last year...

Tim, there a whole host of inspirational people on this site across ALL Forums, I only pick these two out because of their BIF, if you really want to see what can be achieved with the 7D for example, checkout Daniel Cadieux.

    Hi Steve,

Many thanks for the heads up... I will certainly check these guys out.

BTW: I have just ordered the Arash Hazeghi eBook and will read every word with relish.

Hi Tim, this is a first image of yours that I am viewing, so a big welcome to BPN from a fellow South African. Great action from the carmine BE, and a bonus with a catch. All Bee-eaters are extremely fast flyers, so well done for getting him in the frame, and I do like the extended wing.
