    Default American Tree Sparrow.

This little fella nicely perched on an icy protrusion...offering a good view of the gripping foot. He was a little too close as I did not expect it to perch there, so canvas was added top and left...a "more than FF" image

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, touched up the perch to make it a bit more visible, added a catchlight.

Stunning! This is one to be hanging on a wall! Love how the bird just pops out from the white BG. IQ is very good and good job on adding the catchlight

Now you make me wish we had snow in Florida. Lovely image Daniel, thank you for sharing.

    Hi Daniel -

Wow. I really love the snow crystals still on his beak - the catch light you added draws my eye right to them, and for me, enhances the feel of the image, giving a very subtle nod to the environment and his place in it. Beautiful capture with great detail!

P.S. And, if there were a "like" function, I would definitely be liking this :)

Hi Daniel, the snow has provided a superb setting. Love the look back and fine detail and the light has also created some lovely soft tones too. Wish we had snow, only a very light dusting here apart from where William D lives.

    Nice one.

Interesting "lack" of a visible perch !! Works too !

Hi Daniel - Another simple image that really works. I like the pose, the placement in frame and the slight blue tones coming from the snow. Excellent detail. We had snow overnight but it turned to rain and ugly slush too quickly.

Beautiful Daniel, the setting all takes shape with the softness look to the birds chest blending with the BG. The colours and sharpness on the bird look fab. Well done

Perfect bird placement and nicely recomposed with the canvas addition. I too really like the view of the foot gripping the snow. Nice one, Dan, I really enjoy these bird in snow images.

Its a beauty Daniel. Reminds me of a mountain peak poking out above the clouds. I also like the contrast of the earthy browns with the overall cool look.

Just gorgeous! What a great "negative setting" with just a hint of the perch visible!
