Very nice image Edward. I like the colours, details & scene. I would include more of the foreground if you had it and lose some from the top. Also the bird droppings could be cloned out if you don't mind that.

Hi Ed - A nice look at the male in a somewhat majestic setting with him elevated. Overall the image looks a bit thin. I took it into PS and applied a curves adjustment to give a little more depth to the midtones. I also reduced the reds by -15 in HSL layer. I agree with Sanjeev that the rock in the lower left is not ideal but not a deal breaker for me. I also agree that you could crop out the sky as an alternative.

    Hi Edward

Like the pose on the mound and the light looks great. Nice clean surroundings. I would crop the blue sky out. I just feel if you keep it there needs to be more.
I have cropped differently, reduced the blues and cyans in selective colour. Done some level adjustments on the lion. Upped the saturation and selectively sharpened....Hope you don't mind but I feel the image pops more now.

Hi Ed nice looking big male in wide open landscape works nice for me , i do not mind that much the mount in FG .
I would be interested would are your basic adjustments in DPP ? Which picture style was used ? have you used HL and SH recovery sliders in DPP , i do feel so . Try to stay away from them , i would suggest to open up or closing down the SH /HL within PS . You can work more targeted in PS , in DPP if you move the sliders to far you achieve a flat looking image .

I also throw in a different version formational/color point of view . Too complex to write but easy to use ( two contrast blend modes masked ; curves for the blue channel ; saturation reduced in the yellows )

    TFS Andreas
