Hi all back to real wildlife with this White Rhino youngster , after following mum into the mud hole right next to the tarred road , the youngster decided only to sep into the mud and quickly sticking his/her mouth into the same . But was too afraid from my POV to lay down and make him/herself comfortable in the mud. After standing in front of mum and the hole moving forward and backward , i could feel the youngster was really unsure what to do , finally he/she decided to show up into my direction .
Shooting angle was not ideal cause of the fact the hole was close to the road as said above and there have been other cars at the location , so no choice for moving or better angle . It would have been better to move to avoid mummy in the BKG .

I like the angle you shot this at with the right foot forward. Also like the knobby horn just starting to grow. Nice color tone and detail.

Nice head angle. Well exposed and good detail. I'm assuming you darkened the background, but it is not obvious. If you have any space on the left side, it might be worth adding a little more room there.

    Hi Andreas,

the little one really looks great in this image. No prob for mummy for me at all. We cannot have everything!
details are great as well the colors of the calf. Wish I could expand a tad to the right and left the frame, but that is me!!

    Have a great weekend

    Ciao Anette

Hi Andreas - Nice look at the youngster with good texture and detail. Tones and colors look good too (not that I would expect otherwise). Mom in bg doesn't bother me. Nice one overall.

    Rachel

What a wonderful experience with the rhinos right THERE! I would consider cropping away the top strip of green, as it draws my eyes up and away from the youngster. This also makes mom invisible. You captured the hesitancy of this little one, with one ear forward towards you and one back listening to mom. It is adorable with the muddy face. Agree with others about very good details & tones. More on the right would be good as mentioned.

Hi Andreas. A fine image of the little Rhino. Great DOF and details. Love the angle and the POV you captured. Colours look spot on. TFS.

Great IQ and I love the muddy mouth. The colours look great other than a bit of a blue tinge(don't take what I am saying as gospel as I am struggling with colour).. The OOF Rhino in the BG and also the fact there is only a part of it is distracting. Also it would have been better to get both ears cocked forward but not a deal breaker.

Hi Andreas, very cute, love those muddy boots. Think you could afford to loose a bit off the top, may help regarding mum in the BKG?

Oh well so many comments , thanks a big bunch for your participation to all of you .
Fully understand all your points looking from different perspective , some want it wider others tighter ..... well cannot make all happy .
I agree i can go bit tighter on top to loose the greenery , but unfortunately mummy will still be there , so does not make a big difference .

Dummy now you start nit picking ........, but well i do not know what blue tinge are you referring to , there is some blue in the mud/water as a result of a sky reflection . The rest meaning the shadows are showing a very slight blue if you check with eyedropper , LAB values showing - 1 in A - 2 in B channel !! so that is a not even a slight cast / tinge , very close to neutral which = for both channels . Your a great gospel singer , Dumay .
Regarding the ears , next time i will tell the little guy to move both forward for you !! Or i do not shoot ......... well i shoot again for me and i am fine with the ear position .But agree in a perfect world it will look cuter , not just better .

Thanks again to all of you , cheers Andreas

Good details, colour and techs here Andreas, I'd crop to take out mum's tail and would like some more lower/RHS room if you have it?
