Great marching pose on this little guy and I like the well lit eye. The BG really makes the owl pop well. I wish for a less linear perch, but what can ya do! Well done Keith

Love the pose and the intent look Keith. I'm enjoying those claws. Nice clean bg. Well composed to show the walking ramp, and yet minimize the "man made" nature of it.

Very cute, love the concentration. Has a nice, almost child-like feel to it.

Excellent details and sharpness, cool pose against a nice BG. Yes, agreed that the perch is less than ideal. Loi

Thanks guys ,sorry about the perch but it was the only piece of wood that I could get them to run down.

Hi Keith, I like the incline and nice to see you have captured that 'classic' marching pose, always fun.

For me I would have liked more DoF, cranking that ISO (old cracked record I know) but use the D4 and all that it offers. These guys do move fast as those above know only too well, so next time more of everything. BKG offers a nice natural look, works well to separate the subject, I assume it's just a field?

Want to see more this year from you.

PS If you haven't seen it, Artie has mentioned you in his Blog, thread posted in Wildlife, well done, big congrats.

Great shot lovely behavioural capture, I personally wouldn't worry about the beam, it is quite typical for the bird to be on a piece of wood such as this, there is a very similar situation near me but I just can't get close enough to the bird, it is near a well used public footpath and I would inevitably attract attention.

Excellent image. Superb marching pose with nice stare. Very nicely composed.
I am not sure but silver line crop on the top will not hut the beauty of the image.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Hi Keith, love the concentrated look of the walking pose, and what a great view of the right foot and talons. Nice clean BG.

I love the personality transmitted by it's expression, the look down and the right foot and tallons in the air. It look like he's bored and going somewhere he doesn't want to :)
