Hi Gail, I live in Africa and havent seen this fellow before. Good flight pose and angled nicely towards you. Love the red eye and looks like he's been playing in the mud. Gotta love OOF grasses as a BG, it just does so much more to the overall image. Well captured.

Excellent! I love the sharpness, down wing position with the frozen motion, and the detail in the whites. Wonderful eye, with a catchlight to make it come alive.

I agree, it's a great looking BG with a nice bird in flight in it. Cool looking bird that I have never seen before and the pose and details look excellent. That red eye pops off the screen real well and I like the comp you chose. Nice work gail!

Great flight pose, terrific exposure, wonderful BG. Nice work to bring out the legs; those really are long toes. Great bird. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder??

I think it's a gorgeous bird. The BG is equally pretty and it looks like you had lots of nice light there. Perfect techs and a nice pose. It's great that there are no shadows (especially under the far wing) - light angle must have been prefect for you here. Well done Gail.

    Gail:

A fine frame, with complimentary colors, good exposure, clean separation of bill from wing, bg with just enough detail to add a bit of depth.

    Cheers

Killer stuff, Gail. Lovely light, pose, colors & BG. Wish for either some off of the left or a little more on the right.
