Here's another view of the Chukar that Geoffrey and I ran across (almost literally) by the side a rural road in New Jersey farmland. Presumably a Gun Club Refugee. Still, a first for me and a surprise find. I've been having focusing problems ever since dropping the rig a few weeks ago, so this may not be quite as sharp as it could be. I think I've narrowed the problem down to the Kenko 1.4 TC, which has always served me well but probably didn't like being dropped. A new Nikon TC will be delivered tomorrow, via the BAA link to B&H.

Love the POV Bill. I like how some of the foreground blends in with the bird. It works well with this image. Nice details on the bird, and the HA looks ok to me. The BG blends well. Good work Bill and thanks for sharing this
Nice find. I ran across hat was likely an escapee Bobwhite last year, but regardless of where they come from these surprises are always fun (and welcomed!). Good job overall. I think the fine detail could be better but it does look properly focused.
I had almost the exact same encounter with what I presumed to be a near by gun club escapee also. Like yours, it walked right past me and gave me some nice frame filing shots. The shot looks great with nice details and colors.. Well captured, even if it is a refugee.
