Wintery Wren - part 2
This is the later shot from my failed little owl session (!). The light was nicer in my opinion, but I couldn't persuade my little friend to perch on the ice.

I like the perky pose, details, sharpness and complimentary BG. They don't always perch where you want them. Nice image Mike.

Cute little bird in a nice pose with a perfect BG color! Nice sharpness, but I wonder if there is more detail to be found in the snow, in order to balance the bird a little more.

Wren spot on Mike. The snow does grab my eye a little and as you know I prefer a lttle in the BG - though not always possible. Just my personal preference. Others will say just the opposite of course ! You did well to grab this little fella the speed they go.

Mike this is very good indeed, I bet you can't remember the last time you had the luxury of ISO 100!!
My only suggestion - and this is retrospective of course would have been to increase ISO and go for a smaller aperture, alternatively move say a couple of feet further back.

Ooops! My typing is worse than my photography! It was ISO 1000 not 100, but I agree with your crit

Wonderful attitude, pose, and front foot position. Sharp. EXP righ on. Yeah, the perch is not the greatest. As for the snow, I think that the biggest problem is that the snow on the left is unavoidably o-o-f as it is closer to the camera.... As I have written a bunch, o-o-f stuff on our side of the subject is almost always a distraction....
