Great mane on this guy, he looks huge. Superb early morning light. Nice detail. I feel the warmth could be brought down a little. Also the comp could be improved with taking some more off the right hand side. Are the two shadow lines in the BG from vehicles, other lions, trees? I do find those a little distracting.

Hello Ben,
I agree, nothing beats the morning light and this is one lovely capture - lots of rich golds and reds, at first the image does appear a tad oversaturated but at the same time this is quite effective, for it grabs the eye
I love the pose from the lion, and just like Dumay I would prefer a bit less on the RHS and more on the LHS, but only if you have; nice POV and good detail, the subject's face might be a tad too sharp - WDYT?
The shadows really don't bother me, but if this were mine and if I were allowed to nit-pick
I would try reduce exposure on the lion's muzzle and check on the slight colour cast on the wet stain below the tail ( a tad of magenta or blue?)
Really a lovely image Ben, I can only wish for such an opportunity and I congratulate you for capturing this, aside from a few small observations I really think you got something special here - well done
Kind regards,

Like your RP here Ben, with the small issues addressed nicely, love the rich colours and lighting.

Nothing beats that very first light Ben. Great contrast and detail here. I prefer the RP, but would crop more pano from top and bottom?
This looks like the Madikwe airstrip?
