Theme: Infinite Waistline
Greetings. Theme, maybe. It's a flip anyway...

4-way flip, Silver Efex - high structure, dynamic range - flesh tone color fill, several blending passes including an invert. Reminded me of a torso shot (Weston?). Maybe one of those songs of my own ;-)... (best with the Firefox tonality).
Thanks for looking.
Cheers,

The unlikely combination of color and texture -- to say nothing of shape -- really makes this an arresting image. I had to copy it and flip it vertically to see if there was a difference in the darker tones from top to bottom. Sure enough, there isn't, but it looks like there is, and that's fascinating. Somehow, it doesn't immediately strike me as a flip (maybe because it was done both horizontally and vertically???). Super job -- both the concept and the processing.

The title is great! Ummm...is this a comment on holiday overeating
. Very creative combination of effects. The internal figure 8 & some of the markings add an interesting sketchy contrast to the more solid flesh-colored expanse of the body. I really, really wonder what does the original look like?

Dennis, Nancy,
Thanks much for your comments. They are much appreciated. The original:

The title is a little bit of a cheat to get the viewer thinking of a torso. As the theme included flips I was looking for something with a pattern that would flip well and I came across this shot of skiers I took from the Helbronner Godola (which spans France to Italy near Mont Blanc/Monte Blanco - Chamonix, France). I flipped vertical so the bottom line would continue in an S-curve, then saw the figure 8 would work with a 2nd flip. Rotating to a wide rather than tall aspect I saw the torso like outline that reminded me of the Edward Weston photo (not that they look anything alike!). The color (and title) was added to set the association to a torso. The presentation here suffers a bit from the lowered resolution for web presentation (43 megapixels with the flips).
One of those sure OOTB things ;-)
Cheers,

Love seeing the before and after! Downhill skiers was a surprise! But I can see how that works into the wide-body flip. Thanks!

Looks too much like a bra for my comfort level. Maybe if the color were not skin color? But, you did that on purpose.

I agree Anita it does look like a bra which was probably his intention. I really like the colors and the texture Michael.

Anita, Judy,
The things people see! The Weston photo that came to my mind was of Edward's son Neill (striking in it's androgynous smooth appearance). And the hint of hip and underarm in an early version of the OP had me headed for a torso. A bra? I can see what you're saying but it doesn't register. I saw a bifurcated stomach imprinted with an infinity symbol. ;-) Thanks for your comments.
Cheers,

Hey, Michael, it must be a female vision
This is so creative, Dave would have smiled, and I would never have guessed what the original image consisted of.

Very intriguing, and I was seeing birds and fish! It also reminded me of a cave painting in an abstract way. I really like it. Dave would have given it two thumbs up
