    1DM2, 400 DO, f9, 1/1250, ISO 400, set Manual. I'd like the head turned a bit more toward me, but it appears to be looking my way.

    Everything is nice and sharp. Like you mentioned, a head turn more toward you would've
    been nice. I also would like to see a little more room on the left.

    Hi Douglas,

    The first thing I noticed are the two dust spots near the top of the head and to the right of the frame. I agree about the head turn.

    Keep them coming!

    Very lovely lighting and nice detail Douglas. I agree a better head turn would have strengthened this image and also a tad more room to the left as mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

    Yes, the head angle is the biggest detriment to this image - and it is quite significant. Hopefully you had some other images from that session with a better angle? It also looks like harsh light you had to deal with. I do like the pebbles' colours matching those of the Dunlin :-)

    Love the way the color of the rocks matches the bird's plumage! I agree with above suggestions. I think the feathers may be a little oversharpened.

    Very nicely done Douglas,
    Great colors on bird and the background...:) agree with the slight head turn and the addition of space to the left of your frame...keep them coming...:D
