A Barbary Macaque, flipped, with textures added. Not sure if it would be more successful with the eye showing. A small tribute to Dave Phillips who inspired our work for much too short a time. Thankfully his site is still up! (See our bi-weekly themes for the link)

I don't normally go for flips, but this one is a winner! So cute too! I love the clever shape that was created when you joined them, and OF COURSE I love monkeys. (Of the ornaments for my "Jungle/African animals" themed Christmas tree, 30 are monkeys!)

It's fun to look at flips because of the not-always-obvious (or predictable) things that show up. The overall arched shape is good, and I especially like how you countered the symmetry of the flipped monkeys with the asymmetrical background. The background color works well with the subject, too. It's hard to say without seeing the eyes, but my guess is that it's better without that. I'm assuming you meant the eye of the monkey. I probably wouldn't have thought of it if you hadn't mentioned that, but it might be fun to add something that could be interpreted as eyes in the face that resulted from the flip in the top of the image.

Really great example of Dave's style, or I should say one of his styles. My brain (what's left of it!) makes a suggestion of eyes from the dark spots on either side of the white "blaze" in the center of the "face".

Very nice graphically. The colors and textures work really well. I like the two curving shapes coming together. Flips often create faces where they join/flip, which I usually find disturbing. Glad you and others are celebrating the work of Dave Phillips.

Hi, Jackie, Dave would have loved this! And I do too, including the title I see a cute little pony face in the middle (or a snake face with Micky Mouse ears!).
