This was taken last Spring during nesting season, on a small island around Port Aransas, Texas. I wish there had been some separation of the herons rather than their necks crossing.

I would take this shot any day. It's nearly impossible to get near a Heron in my area, they are so jumpy, and there's only a few around. You were able to get the faces and eyes nice and sharp. Separation of the birds would be even better, but like I said I'd be happy to get near these guys. Although I'm not sure I like those yellow flowers, but that's just my own taste.

IQ looks good, interesting perch. I agree on the merging of the birds, ideally there'd have been some space. I'd also crop in from the right and give some more room on the left, I think the comp. would be a little more balanced like that.
