Not the full bird I know but pleased to get the raised crest, the b/g colours are from a Scottish pine forest in winter.

Thanks for looking and your tips and comments on my Snipe post.

    Lovely bird!
I like the raised crest and the BG colors.
Really nice details in the feathers without being oversharpened.
I find the comp a bit off for my taste. I would crop from the bottom by a good inch and convert it to a landscape orientation.
I see some artifacts ( ?pixellation) just to the left of the branch below the feet. Not sure what that is. Would smooth it out.
If so inclined I would clone out the extra bit of branch from LHS.
    Nice image,
    Gail

beautiful bird and pleasing image. I also would prefer to clone out the bit of branch on LHS.

Crcker BG Keith and great IQ on the bird. If you had more spece around the bird I would use it. Also a pity that the tail is OOF but really not a biggie

IQ is fantastic, great BG, but I agree with Gail. I'd play with the comp. a bit more.

Nice image Keith. I like the HA and the BG colours. I wished mine had a good perch like you have. Well done

Gorgeous Keith, love the crest and super sharp on the eye. High on my list of UK birds to get this year
