Nice, Jim. Great subject with an interesting pose, good background and perch, and excellent color, sharpness and feather definition throughout the tonal range.

Great looking frame Jim. The pose is really nice as it looks up to the sky and the BG sets him off perfectly. The feather detail and exposure look sweet too and I like that we can see the eye well. Very nice.

Love the perch, bird, and BG. I might try to get just a little bit more detail out of those blacks on the face and left breast.

I like the vertical comp with lots of space for it to look into. Nice fluffed up pose. Perch and BG look good too. I'm still waiting for my first photo of this species, although one did perch two feet from me while I was taking a break in the woods one time...with camera on the ground.

Your collection of species is second to none here I believe....
Another I have never seen and well done at that.
    Perfect exposure...

Nicest pic of a black-throated blue that I have seen in a long time.
    Well done,

Excellent exposure and details. Perfect DOF and bird placement. Not easy getting such nice poses on these twitchy little birds!
    Very nicely done Jim
