Very nice pose and look at the viewer, with good light. The BG pulls some attention away from the bird with the bright color, especially left of the head. In this case I'd consider some crop from the left and toning down the BG. A gradient darkening from the left might be good.

Did you do any retouching on the BG? If this is a perch you'll use again, it might be interesting to place something like some large branches in that empty area in the LL to give a hint of OOF detail. The images posted by John Roberts in Avian are wonderful examples of subtle but interesting detail in backgrounds. Of course, easier said than done.

Here's a quick and dirty tweak.

    Beautiful Image, Well Done.

I do agree with Diane the BG is little bit distracting.

what a great subject you had there! I agree with Dianne and believe her RP enhances your good image. I have toned down a few bright backgrounds at her suggestion and was happy with the results. I like the improved DOF on this one.

It's not just that the BG on the left is plain -- a featureless BG is often lovely, but the tree on the right is so visually heavy that it needs some detail or at least a darker tone on the left to balance it.
