Great looking bird and nicely captured, William. Love the eye contact, super detail, angle, and head turn. Clearly can see most of the feather makings.

Besides all that's been said, the catch light in eye is super nice!
To improve it I would give more space above and take off space from bellow. To my taste it's a bit centered vertically

Great image, the eye contact and details are super. The crest gets lost in the bark.

Great capture William, nice work at high ISO. I agree with Tiago that the cropping is not ideal. I have just scrolled the image up and down my screen and found that a little off the top works best for me. Cheers, Ian

The thumbnail did not do this any justice and I'm so glad I opened it, a nice surprise. Cute bird on his tree. I agree that the bird could pop just a bit more off the tree. Not sure if this would work but maybe select the tree and reduce the exposure just a touch, vignette the corners? Just a thought. Some nice composition suggestions above.

Still looks good on this one William, interested to read cropping suggestions.

Hi William, nice to have a different style of BKG, these trees are quite photogenic. Overall I get the impression you have lifted, lightened the image, more noticeable in parts of the wing, chest & crest. Parts look thin, with more noise visible. If I am correct, this is where you need to build on getting the exposure right, you should read Artie's article on ETTR, master this & Back button focus and you will be nailing those images time & time again. They will look better and require less PP. Personally I would have a little more space (weight) below and a fraction less above.

A very unique image, William. I'm liking it lots. Excellent pose. Agree that the eye is almost smack dab in the center of the frame. Before reading the other comments I too was thinking that moving the bird up in the frame (crop from top, add to bottom) my make the comp more fun. Well done!
