    Nice portrait Roy, looks a nice combination you've got. It is that sharp I looked around for halos thinking you might have oversharpened in PP, but there are non visible to me. Great head angle, looking forward to seeing more results

    A handsome bird. I'd ask what lens but I don't know Nikon gear so it wouldn't mean much to me. Looks like you were pretty close, though.

    It does look like it's just bordering on crunchy at the shoulders. It's frustrating making an image look right online.

    Thanks Mike. A round of unsharp mask was all I did. This is a new camera to me and I was struggling to get sharp pictures, in fact I returned the camera before this one. When I get them sharp now they are very sharp.

    It was a 500f4 and yes very close, this is almost full frame, just cropped the blank space.
