There was a siting of a Common Loon in one of the local ponds so Doug and I headed out to check it out. It was a lifer for me! Well, the loon was always on the opposite side of the pond from me and it took some patience and three trips to get this shot (which I got on the last 10 minutes of my last trip).

    Miguel:

A beauty for sure and your effort was rewarded. I don't see the winter plumage adults up north, nor with the fall color in the water, so this is special for me as well.

Perfect complimentary colors in bg, nice comp, drops, sharp.

    Well done!

    Cheers

Persistence well rewarded with a beauty of a shot.. Lovely light and angle of one of my favourite birds (not that I ever get to see them!)

    Very nice BG color.
I have never had a good look either.
    Congrats and well done...

Gorgeous, and the BG color is perfect for the bird! I wonder if a little more detail could be found in the whites?

Love the color, detail, and exposure. Impressive sharpness for 1000 mm. Too bad the Loon has flown the coop.

Hi Miguel, great low perspective, and just love all the droplets. The colour of the BG compliments the Loon nicely.

Nice portrait shot, Miguel. The water beads on the head and body makes it special.
