Hi Dumay, I like the way you caught the cub in mid stride and the 'casual' look of the head not quite to you. Some may feel the elephant droppings (?) & stick to the rear are a little distracting, however nothing you could do. I like the fact the cub is walking R to L into frame . Might be the laptop screen, but wonder if the Tint slider needs a slight tweak to the left to adjust the colour fractionally, may help the whites too?

Hope you retain the connection, be good to have you more active, trust all is good.

    TFS

    Hello Dumay,

I hope you had a great week-end, I certainly had a wonderful relaxing day mostly spent in front of the computer and enjoying the recent posts - including your little lion. Absolutely adorable cub and, as Steve observed, he is casually wondering about showing no concern or stress whatsoever in the presence of the photographer. Good techs and well processed, I find the stick already mentioned only a tad distracting - just mentioning this but if you are not in the habit of cloning, no problem for me since I already decided I like this image as is:)

Love the pose from the subject, the framing, as well as detail. Let us see some more please, and I take this opportunity to thank you for your kind comments on my own - I do appreciate it, especially knowing that Internet is not always available to you and it probably takes a long time to connect and download, etc...

    Have a good evening,
    Gabriela Plesea

Dumay, this is a sweet image of the young one. Very nice colours, details, great eye contact and walking pose.

    Thanks for all the comments.

Steve, I have started warming my images again as i tried cooling and comments came forward that there was too much magenta which is an issue I never had before so I have decided to go back to my warmer days. Maybe I have gone too warm. I hope to find a happy medium soon. BTW this was shot in quite overcast conditions so not sure if that is affecting the tones in the whites trying to warm the image slightly.

Hi Dumay nice relaxed looking cub on the move from the right direction .
Besides the very slight magenta cast ( colors are subjective subjects ) mentioned by Steve , i like the overall tones and color combo . You extracted nice detail in the subject and kept the contrast at a natural looking level in the rest of the image . I think a bit of reducing the contrast in the stick would help to make the stick less obvious if you wish , but no deal breaker , for me.
IN the end you have to like it ,if you like it warmer OK.

TFS Andreas wish you a better signal for more comfort though

Hi Dumay - I also like the walking pose with the turn of the head towards the camera. Definite cuteness factor here. I love that we can see the spots. Nice details too. I find colors and warmth to largely be personal preference within parameters of course.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Cute little one. I like the gaze and striding pose. Would you say this one is a little on the thin side? (based on hip bones poking up on back)

Thanks for al the comments folks.

Steve you are right, he is a little on the thin side but this is very characteristic of Kruger National Park Lion's, they are often looking scraggly and waiting their next meal. Also their survival rate is very low, about 70-80% will not make it past there first year.
This particular individual is the only cub still alive from a litter of three. Its tough out here in the South African Bushveld.

Thanks for the reply Dumay. I asked because despite the thin appearance this little lion still has a perky in its eyes.
