    Default Brown Pelican at Sunrise

This image was created at dawn in Morro Bay. The sun had just crested a hill and was spotlighting the head of the pelican. I was really wishing I had a tripod and an ND filter to try some longer exposures with the waves.

Well composed, good dof, I like a lot the waves over the rocks, the light on the head makes it pop. The water splash is nice but beeing bright it draws the eyes from the bird head. Still I think this is a fine capture and I like it.

    Well seen Aidan.
My first reaction to the image was-I wish the entire pelican was bathed in light.
The wave to the left of the bird is neat but does compete with the bird.
IQ and techs are excellent as always,

I'm on board with Gail's comments 100%. That said, I sure wish I had a frame like this one in my files!

Lovely spotlight effect here, and the lit up wave adds so much to this unique and interesting image.
