Wading through a herd of Cape Buffalo in Mala Mala, South Africa. Amazing how close you can get when they don't see you as a threat.

    Canon 6D
    Zeiss 80-200mm f/4
    f/5.6, 1/1000, ISO 400 about 80-100mm
    HH and manual focus

Slight crop, pp using the techniques here: http://tinyurl.com/kd7m9wv

C&C welcome as always. Just trying to improve. :)

That's great with the three of them lined up like it is almost like a mirror infinity shot of just one buffalo! Too bad the other two in the background weren't as cooperative! The expression on the face just tells me he could care less if you were there or not.

I'll have to check on your techniques later, but I really like this shot. As Warren said, great lineup and drop-dead expression. Sharpness and limited depth of field are great!

I'm of two minds about the sky -- I think for me, cropping just below it would give more emphasis to the three buffalo, and likewise taking a little off the left.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, if that last buffalo were facing me then I'd really have something indeed!

I was conflicted about the sky as well, was trying to keep all the bodies in the shot while preserving the "staggered symmetry" of the horns as they blurred into the BG. I agree a trim on the left might be in order. :)

Nicely composed, agree about the sky. My eye is wandering nicely around the image, I just wonder if this would be better if there was more "head room" at the bottom of this image.

Another try at it. Less on top and a little more on bottom.

I think that's a great improvement! Tiny nit -- I'd touch out the very small light area in the far UL corner. Wonder if it would look good to darken the grass in the LL?

IMHO having the sky in (and a hint more if you have it) gives more 'depth' to the image, RP just seems too cramp & confining.
