Default Hoarfrost on a dried flower head

Took a walk this morning just as the sun was starting to burn off the hoarfrost. The subject is a dried flower head covered with hoarfrost. I softened the background and desaturated the oranges a bit. Some curves adjustments along the way. A layer of Impressions charcoal & pastel and some adjustments gave me the diffuse, abstract look I was after.

Very nice processing Nancy! Very abstract. I wouldn't have guessed what it was if you hadn't said. I like the way it just fades into the background.

I wouldn't have known either! I love the soft dreamy look and the bg is super. I like the placement in the frame.

Very nice composition, I probably wouldn't know what this was if you didn't disclose, dreamy look to it....

Really lovely, Nancy. It reminds me of a cotton boll.

Thanks everyone. As an alternative presentation I think I'm going to reprocess it so it is a little less abstract and make it more apparent what it is.

At first, I wanted to see more detail, but I quickly grew to like the softness. It's very nicely composed. Although I hope you do a less abstract version, I really like it this way.

Very nice. Soft. Appealing. I like how you are using Impressions.
