This is another frame of the female Northern Harrier. This is a young female bird.

I do like it Arash. I have a fondness for this kind of light on subjects set against a dark background---beautifully captured and skillfully rendered. ( although I am wondering, is this mostly what the camera saw and captured or is the overall effect the result of post processing rendering ? ).

    Hi Arash,
This is a very dramatic image and the light is beautiful.
The separation of the bird from the black BG is really good.
For me, the black BG makes the harrier look suspended in the image as opposed to flying through the image (am I making sense?) and I miss the sense of movement.
    All personal taste of course.

Hi Arash, stunning capture, stunning light. It's unique to be able to capture BIF in such conditions. TFS. Loi

Thanks everyone, Bob this exactly like the original scene, key to capturing an image like this is manual exposure (I have explained it in the past)

Beauty of a shot Arash, with nice detail in the face. The gold on black strikes a nice balance, and the gentle slope of the bird appeals to my eye. This is one of my favourite raptors.

Hi Chris, your monitor is not calibrated properly. If it is a laptop, it may not be suitable for viewing this image. See this article on my blog to learn more

So dramatic and beautiful...have not seen a harrier flight image with this lighting....since the last one you posted! :) Seriously, I don't know that I've ever seen anyone else post images of this species with this kind of lighting...really special.
Just a hint of some kind of background definition/feature, is the only thing that could improve this imo.

Looks killer on my new 5K screen :) Very unique frame with the dark BG and the nice evening glow to the bird. I like it! The white on the rump looks perfect on my calibrated monitor.
DPP really handles the high ISO shots well. Nice frame Arash.
