I like the colors, water is nice too... but either the RAW was soft or your processing still needs a lot of work, The details look coarse and crunchy here. this should be an easy shot...

Thanks for commenting. Arash, please define "crunchy". I really am not sure what you are seeing that I am not. Here is a re-work in DPP 4 which looks a little better to me, but not sure it addresses your issues

Repost it is better but still not there. crunchy means the details look coarse and lack the fine features. Can you post a 100% crop from RAW (DPP screen) so I can see if the focus was sharp? It is hard to tell what went wrong from the small size image

Fantastic water and colours!! The details seem good to me, perhaps a bit of over sharpening and compression mix caused what Arash is seeing.

love the beautiful water. The second post looks better to me, I can see what Arash is referring to but, it looks slight to my eye. To me it looks like it slightly missed focus. Its an attractive Image.

I don't know if I did this right, Arash, (I've never tried this before) but here is screenshot of my RAW file in DPP

you need to blow it up to 100% view before taking the screen shot...

    that's the whole screen capture.

there was a thread by Doug explaining how to save a 100% crop, I maybe able to find it later... if not maybe I'll write up a small instruction set

OK, Arash. After a little messaging with Doug, I think I have it now. Here is (I hope) a 100% crop of the original

    Hi Ian,

The 100% crop is soft and lacks critical sharpness. The separation between the feathers and the feather edges are not visible from the softness. This could be due to either slow shutter speed, operator error or camera messing up AF. If you want good details the RAW needs to be tack sharp not soft like this.

I would mount the rig on a sturdy tripod (to rule out vibration), use a dollar bill on the wall and see if you can get a high percentage of sharp shots in AI servo mode. If not I would return the camera or send it to Canon.
