    Default Red and Yellow Dahlia

I took this at Merryspring Gardens, Camden, Maine this past summer.

I did basic processing; cloned out some leaves on the left border; added two textures from Shadowhouse Creations; CEP: Detail Extractor for center of flower, and Color Contrast Range.

Nice to see your work posted again. Welcome back. Like the textured background and the transition from sharp center down to blurred stem. Focuses on the center of the flower. Happy New year!

I like the colour combination Anita, and the angle you have presented on the flower. Are the circles in the bg from bokeh or the texture? Nice work.

    Thank you, everyone!
Jackie: The circles are from a texture.

Wonderful bright, happy colors! The blended textures are gorgeous and showcase the flower very well, picking up the yellows in the flower center and on the leaves. A beautiful "Anita-flower" image!

I really like your composition with the primary diagonal of the flower and the placement of its center. The flower, itself, is beautiful, too. I realize this is contrary to a lot of the other comments, but I wonder about changing the background a bit. I like its design a lot but wonder about making it closer in color to the center of the dahlia. Something like this . . .

Interesting idea! I will play around with it. Many thanks.
