Glenn, excellent captur and timing. Love the stretch pose and the BG. Hard to believe this frame was captured right around noon. Happy New Year!!! Loi

The colors are very nice. Nice detail. If mine I would add some canvas at the top and compare the two images.

The perfect moment beautifully captured. Love the feather detail, the tail in the air, and those talons! Nice background. I like the panoramic crop. Agree that a slight turn of the head would make it even stronger.

    Happy New Year Glenn!
A lovely shot and great action with the talons just leaving the post.
My favorite part of this image is the fanned near wing. Love the line it creates.
The BG colors are really nice.
I think I would like to see more room above the bird and I would darken the area of white above the wing.
A small nit but I might be tempted to clone out the little wisp/thread of wood just in front of the nail on the far foot.
A very nice image and I am OK with the HA although I cannot deny that it would have been nice to have a better angle.
Excellent IQ and exposure as well,
    Gail

It's a wild Merlin, eye level, dynamic pose, sharp details with a good composition...pretty dang sweet! One small question is...wondering why the splotchy look to the upper part of the underwing in those white areas...? Lifting a shadow area in post, or maybe the plumage just looked that way?

Beautiful, Glenn! I really like the dynamic pose and the sharp eye. I also like the talons / legs. While I am far from a PS expert, maybe it would be worth seeing if you could make that part of the image pop more...perhaps a little more saturation and/or sharpening.

I do not think the colour is quite right. I would give a little tweak to the left with the blue channel. The plumage detail in the wings has produced a blotchy effect ....is this natural? otherwise good capture:)
