Our local fox decided to come close to us today and quickly adapted to the sound of the shutter click. It has been as cold as MINUS 15 degrees F lately and I think the fox has become bolder so he could raid the bird feeders. It was thrilling to have him almost pose!
Like a child with a new paintbox, I used 3 different Topaz programs for this. Glow fur & feathers III at 70% opacity. Simplify watercolor II. Impressions da vinci sketch. Then some PS adjustments for the final effect. Thank goodness Topaz has provided me a virtual paintbrush!

Beautiful effects on the fur, especially. I like the light in the eye. I wish the tongue were a bit less distorted. Lovely bg. What a thrill to have the fox come closer. But, minus 15 F is a lot to put up with for the privilege. :-)

I have deer that have learned how to curl their tongues and suck the sunflower seeds out of the birdfeeders!
Well done -- it LOOKS cold!! I bet he'd like to come inside and curl up by a nice fire with the dog.
We used to have a cat that would ride on Ted's shoulders as he went down to feed the chickens. He would hold the can of feed up so Angus could reach it and he's pick out sunflower seeds and somehow manage to shell and eat them. He was always ready to ride along for this chore.
The complementary colors are very effective, and I really like the effects of your processing on the fur and the background. The tongue adds appeal, but I wish the curve and color of the upper part of the fox's mouth didn't extend into the tongue. I'd be inclined to use some of the tongue colors to remedy that. However, this is another great image.
