    Hi Marc

South Luangwa is a good place :) And this is a really nice portrait. This serious looking expression is one of the reasons I love lions. Love the colors and the light in her eye.

Hi Marc - Nice portrait in soft light and the comp works well. I like the way she stands out from the bg. I'm seeing a grittiness in the subject and a little noise in the bg, neither of which are usually present in your images.

    Happy New Year and TFS,
    Rachel

    Thanks Rachel

Might just have to put that down to Jpeg compression???, I'm not seeing the grittiness, but there is a little more noise than is usual for ISO1600, given this is the D4s.

This is a stunningly simple but beautiful portrait Marc, great light on a fantastic lioness. I see what Rachel is referring to, but I bet the original full size shot has an even better quality to it.

    Nice choice on the crop
