Captured this lioness in hot pursuit of a Puku, unfortunately for her pride with 6 cubs to feed, she came up just short of bringing it down.
With little assistance from her 3 siblings, it was always going to be a difficult task, but a thrill to observe! The pride was however later rewarded with 2 Puku kills which we witnessed later that night.

    South Luangwa Nat Park- Zambia.

    D4s 500 f/4 VR 1/500s f/5.6 ISO1600. B/B from front pax seat.

Almost F/F, with just a lower portion crop, would have preferred them less centered but wanted the dust trail included. Taken late afternoon in 100+ F temps, hence the very warm (but natural) tones.
Levels, curves, mid tone adj in ACR & PS CC.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers
    Marc

Hi Marc - Love the look of determination on her face. Nice timing with the action. I understand about the dust trail but think I would still crop a little from the rhs to move them off center and get rid of some of the dung.

    Rachel

Great action and light here mate!
I like the framing as is, dust trails behind and space to run into. Dry riverbed adds nice context.
Her pride mates should really bring their part LOL.

    TFS,

Can't disagree that the framing here could also work with just a touch off that RHS.

Left the dung as is, and don't like to clone if I can help it.

Marc - I meant that the crop would also get rid of some of the dung. I don't clone either.

    Hi Marc

Fantastic moment. Love how you captured both the lion and puku. For me the framing works, I would not want to crop it rhs. I´m still to see a lion hunt, so I´m a bit jealous here :)

    Happy New Year !
