    Hi all,

I'm sorry my participation in OOTB has been so intermittent lately. Between work - related projects, travel and the holidays, life has been way too busy! (I can't wait to retire in a year or two!)

This image started out as a night photograph of a tree decorated with hundreds of white Christmas lights, located in front of the Tribune Tower in Chicago. I used Topaz Glow to convert the tree to the glowing fibers you see, and then I applied a Joel Olives texture. Then I applied a starry night filter from Topaz Star Effects.

I really like what Topaz Glow does with lights!

    Happy New Year!

    Wendy,

Greetings. My sentiments exactly in your first line. I really like the combination of effects in the complete composition and particularly the Glow effect on the lights. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

This is a beautiful holiday image! I love the pinks and magentas of the bkgd with the bright glowing whites of the tree and stars. Very effective with the combination of filters. Happy happy to you!

I love that you used purple!!! A bit OOTB and perfect background for the lacy tree and stars. Simple and elegant. Would make a nice card. You used a Joel Olives texture to great advantage. I like his textures, but they are challenging to use. We all participate as we can. Glad you are part of OOTB!

I really like the purple bg. The glow from Topaz is not overdone and either is the star effect. The tree looks like it is floating in space.
