A striking creation! You did a fantastic job combining all the elements into a unified whole. Excellent curves and shapes. Nice subdued but not pale colors. Strong image. To me, it feels/looks like wings caught in a box. The grey bg conveys the feeling of being unhappy with being caught in the box. Powerful. This is how I felt when I lived in suburbia.
Oh, gosh, Jackie - these are incredibly good and I like them equally well. At first glance I thought I liked the cube better but I get such a sense of release and freedom looking at the first one that it is probably my favorite. Great use of colors and forms. And definitely OOTB thinkingHopefully we can all fly free of our constraints this year!

Greetings. Wow. The design is very cool. I'm partial to the cube for a couple of reasons. The angled view of the front side (without checkerboard, also one of the reasons I like it) emphasizes a three-dimensionality that is particularly appealing. The curves and feather/chevrons combined with the clouds provide a perspective flip - In the lower set of curves are we looking up a tall building with clouds high above or is that a row of buildings in the upper left receding into the distance on a barbell surface?
I would be interested to see what the cube would look like without the red cross hatches on the sides... methinks, an interesting Escher-ish perspective puzzle.
We may be in a box but with rich infinite internal spaces ;-) Good show! Thanks for posting.

Sorry for the late response. Here are the two images I started with. ( I thought I had another with clouds, but nope) I flipped the wing. Placed the building photo twice opposite to each other, used subtract and luminosity. Used the warp tool to grab the building image on each corner. Oops, also changed the aspect ratio to square. Confused? Me too!, I think you would have to see the actual PSD to make sense of it. One just left square , the other "cubed".
Thanks for the comments. I like your idea Michael of changing the red to grayscale, it would change the feel.
