I don't use either so not much help from here, I would move the heron just a smidge to the right though. Nice pose...

    I don't use either, either.

If I compare this to other work you have done, I'd say I prefer the other work. This image is nice, but it looks less real than other images you have done, not that that is bad, just giving you my feedback.

    I do like the colors!

I find Fractalius very creative with lots of adjustable effects, but for me it works best with web-sized images. It is agonizingly slow at larger sizes with lots of pixels and/or I'm too impatient to see the various results of moving the sliders ! I can use Topaz software with larger image sizes so I'm going to get Topaz Glow, even if it is similar. It's a bit like having a closet of clothes. Sometimes you just like having a choice and something strikes you more than something else.

I think the image bkgd is a bit dark. But cool red legs!

No help either, as I only use Frac. I love the definition and colours in the legs and feathers.

Hi, Mitch, I'm only using fractalius so I won't be much help either. I was tempted to purchase Glow while it was on sale but I'm not sure I can justify adding it. Fractalius is slow but most of the images I use it on aren't going to be printed large (or at all) so I don't mind downsizing them a bit to speed things up.
I like the pose but I agree with Nancy that it seems a bit dark.
