I was at the Tadoba Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra, India and was lucky enough to have a sighting of this majestic male tiger. His highness decided to show up late in evening and we were struggling for light. If it wasn't for fast glass and a good body I would have not got this.

    Hi Sanjeev

This is great, very good detail, exposure and sharpness. I would love to see this in full figure.

Hi Sanjeev - You really do have steady hands to get such a sharp image at 1/40 with a heavy lens. Nice detail, color and tones. Interesting pose with the mouth open and tongue out. Did someone else's flash go off to light the scene by any chance? Also, please don't forget to include EC info if you use it. In this case it was +1.67.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Rachel, am not sure if someones flash went off. They instruct folks to turn off flash in the forests during safaris. I over exposed by mistake and then I was glad the DPP 4 did a great job pulling back the HL with good detail. The ETTR could have helped in lowering noise.

Hi Sanjeev very nice tiger shot/pose with that, what looks like a snarl to me.
Stunning IQ for the techs given , you must be very steady to get that from HH. yes the overexposing does help a lot with noise . I like the colors and the framing , too.

Good job all around . TFS Andreas

Hi Sanjeev, any shot of a Tiger is a great shot in my book, everyone shot have that experience once in their lives, it's truly awesome!!!

Perhaps going portrait in format may have offered a better framing/composition? Just select the tongue and drop the Exp/Gamma a fraction to highlight the tongue and those rasping barbs.
