    I've been trying Fab's Orton technique on everything including this cattle egret with shallow dof.

    Taken at the farm

    40d + 500 4.0L
    f/4
    1/400
    580ex II w/bb at -2

    burned the edges too.

    A different and interesting image, Michael. It does indeed give the bird a dreamy look. I like it as a change-of-pace. I'm not sure about the large blue halo on either side of the bird though.
