    Default Osprey with Alewife

Went up to the Alewife run in Maine at Damariscotta Mills to photograph some Ospreys

Will have to go back for some more as i did not get the right angle of the birds hitting the water to catch their prey

    600mm 4.0

    John,

Nice work. The BG is fairly uniform so works well as a backdrop to the Osprey. I like the wing spread and eye contact. It looks like you might have used Shadow/Highlight on the bird as the mid-tone contrast is low. If that is the case, remember to use the mid-tone contrast slider in S/H. If that is not the case, select the bird and do a curves adjustment to bring up the mid-tone contrast.

Whoa, I did not see the fish until the second look. How's that for remembering the title? I like it. As per RAM, the bird could use a bit more punch and a tad more selective sharpening on the face. Nice pose and position in the frame.

The repost is a significant improvement but the fish is still lost...
