    Default Northern Shoveler Female

I photographed this female Shoveler at the Bosque in early November. Nothing fancy here; nice wing position and BG. Looking forward to some west coast ducks in March with Dave Salem!

Beautiful downwing position. And although fairly common as Arash mentioned, they don't fly nearly as often as other species, at least not here in Southern California. They can feed for hours without a single flight opportunity, so capturing this beauty probably wasn't as easy as many other species.

Doug - if you can make it down to San Diego after your workshop with Dave, there's no better place to get Ring Necks and Wood Ducks in flight.

Another great duck IF frame Doug. The angle and the wing position are perfect and I really like the detail in this. I like her speckled bill and the nice BG you caught her in.
Well done and looking forward to our workshop together also. Should be a ton of fun and the ducks are already in thick!! See ya soon

To take one of the plainer looking of waterfowl and make such a special image is an amazing talent---I sat and looked at this for 10 minutes. There are many such images on this forum but this one sure catches my fancy.
