Thanks for liking my previous Mallard in similar conditions (from the same place and day). There were dozens of mallards, and this lone goose came slowly waddling in. Tough to fit in the frame as I was in my car, and removing the TC would have made me lose the op (there were mallards just below the frame to spoil the reflection had I waited a few moments more). It never stopped walking until it was smack dab in the middle of the duck flock. I like the "X" created by the legs and feet :-)

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/100s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, more than FF (added canvas for breathing room for the comp), lots of contrast added.

Very cool! As has been said many times, an outstanding image of a common subject trumps a mediocre image of a rare one.

Agree about the X effect with the legs.

    Cheers

Daniel I get lots of people telling me there is nothing about to photograph, this excellent image shows just what can be done with a so called common bird and someone with a bit of imagination.

Great reflection. I like the "X", and the slight turn of the goose's head toward you. Nicely positioned in the frame. I wouldn't change a thing.

Another really cool reflection shot Daniel. I like the X too and the high key monotone look to this frame is nice and unique. Well done again!
