And for those like Gail who aren't crazy about high-key, I persuaded him to fly past a different background.

The high-key version works better here. Probably if the 2nd version had just the green in the BG the image would be more appealing to me.

    HaHa Bill! Love version #2.
    Fantastic wing spread and sharpness!
Great PP for version 2. I would not have known you had altered the BG.
Happy holidays to you and yours as well!

Hi Bill. What technique did you use to replace the BG? Layers - Layer mask - brush?
I'm a bit novice and learning the PP techniques...

Very simple, Tiago. In one file (call it "eagle") I made a selection of the bird (easy, given the high-key image), and created a new layer with that selection. Then I made a new file from a background borrowed from an old image. With the two files (eagle and background) both open, I dragged the eagle layer onto the background file. Presto.

In this case I like the second version better. It relaxes the eyes, allows to concentrate more on the bird which has excellent pose and details, Bill.

Beautiful eagle Bill, great capture. I also prefer the second image, although many of my images appear high key (not intentionally done, just exposing for the bird which blows out the sky).

    Spectacular image. Bill Sir.
Great banking pose, beautiful colors and great details.
Though I like high key image, here I love the RP with beautiful BG.

Very nice banking, and wing position, Bill. Sharp detail, and I also like both versions. Well done.

Sharp! I love the banking pose and the high-key effect in the original. Vertical comp and bird placement is just perfect for my taste. Love it Bill.

That's the best catch of all the underwing feathers , in such great detail and focus, that I've seen Bill--a fine eagle pic

Nice shot, tough light like in mine, but good details in the shadows.

Nice job on V2. That would have been awesome. The high key image looks great and you didn't wind up with grainy blacks like I see in allot of BE images. Nice details too. Well done Bill and have a great holiday.

Thank you David. Same to you. Yes, if only he had chosen the second BG...
