To all my BPN friends. I have enjoyed your company in 2014 and wish us all good light and good subjects in 2015.

Imaged Friday night in some of the nicest light that I have ever seen. Some may prefer a natural perch but this is quite representative of where I live. Note that jpeg is giving me some trouble with the reds....uncompressed file has more detail in the bird's beautiful face.

Great shot Grace, This reminds me of a night last year shooting deer when the son was incredibly red, so I'm glad you've kept the colours true to how they were presented to you. I love the graduated background, and the subject is one of those I never tire of seeing

Love the light in this image.
    IQ is excellent as always.
Love the pink band that runs along the bottom of the frame.
Not a huge fan of the perch but do like the diagonal line it creates.

    Love the stunning light!!!
It's true that the perch is not natural, but it's repetition creates a nice pattern

Stunning is indeed the word! Just gorgeous. Wonderful last light, great head turn, beautiful dusky background and good techs. I rather like the snow fence as a graphic element.

Amazing light , excellent image, Grace. The snow fence as a perch works very well here.

    Grace:

Good comments above. Agree about the graphic element from the repeating lines of perch. To play up that effect, I might consider a modest crop from the top. Yes, a bit squarer, but the diagonal lines are so strong that that isn't an issue to my eye.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers

I like the light, exposure and band at the bottom ties in the fence and lighting effect. Well done Grace.

Grace just to add my bit, it's beautiful, that pink light is something else.

Magnificent image in wonderful lights. Very nice pose. I like the perch though man-made.
I never get images on good perch
Is this light called as twilight...where whole sky is illuminated with pink or yellow lights?
    Love the frame.

    Regards,
    Satish.

I echo all the positives above. A truly unique image. A rare one where a man made perch is working well for me.

Happy holidays and all the best to you Grace.
