Stunning! I love how the yellow leaves in the BG repeat the color in the eyes.

    Jim:

Love the pose with the slight lean, nice view of feet, agree about the yellow flowers/eye.

Did the bg require any post processing?

Quite a rig to hand hold!

    Cheers

Excellent IQ and hand held that is very impressive, yellow bits in the b/g do add to the image.

Lovely portrait Jim. The bird is nice and sharp, great pose and the BG colours fit well. Thanks for sharing

Thanks Randy. The only thing done to the bg was NR in PS. I did this selectively to the BG only. I never do NR on the subject.

Beautiful portrait of a wonderful subject.
I wonder if an increase in the brightness of the owl might improve this terrific image. I say this because I see a bit of pink in the whites.
I too, wondered if you had done some pruning of the BG. Very nice of the owl to perch right in that spot!!
    Well done,
    Gail

Fabulous portrait! I, too, love the yellow leaves and eyes. It might be worth trying a slight Levels adjustment to pull up the whites just a bit; but not if it compromises the nice dusky feeling, which is the way we see these guys (if we're lucky enough to see them at all).

What a great looking portrait of this beautiful Owl Jim. Nice that you got her in a open spot of the tree, not the norm, at least for me. Great detail and exposure and the BG is just far enough behind her to make a pleasing blur. Very nice. BFAM
