    Default Two Swans a-Courtin'

The Tundra Swans at Chincoteague were great fun to watch when we were there last month. A group of 6 or so, adults and juvies, had formed a clique that would chase off any other swan that landed near their patch of the marsh. Within the clique, a pair would occasionally launch into a noisy courtship display, watched by the others in the group.

    Hi Bill,

You're still making that D7000 sing like I never could! Light is fantastic, IQ on the birds looks great. I love the interaction. My only two critiques would be the weeds near the left bird's rear end and the break in the water going right through that bird's head. Neither of which really bother me very much.

I love the light and the behavior portrayed. Great HA and the whites look good.
I like the weeds myself but do wish that dark band in the water was not there.

Great to capture the behaviour in such good light - and both on the focal plane.

While I agree the dark band / sand bank or whatever is not ideal, still a super shot that I would be pleased with.

Nice interaction and appealing blues. Pano crop works...and I think a bit more at right would actually be good. A few brownish smudges directly above the right bird could be cleaned up IMO.

Thanks everyone. For those who weren't crazy about the brown band, here's a version without it. I left the grass untouched. Yes, Daniel, maybe a sliver more on the right wouldn't hurt, but I've not addressed that here, having seen your note too late.

Wonderful interaction between these two, Bill. I'm a fan of the original post for it shows depth and is just soft enough for a natural looking BG. Love that light.
