The last one I posted didn't have quite the right head turn , I actually like this one a lot better , he was about 8 feet away from me when he turned and started walking across the hay bale towards me , stopping only when I could fit his head and chest in the frame :) , Canon 20D w/200 F/2.8L, 1/1000 sec @ F/8.0 , ISO 400 , -1/3 EC

I'm getting the image.....just no thumbnail. Hopefully someone else can fix it. The action of him walking toward you with that curious look and raised foot is terrific. The image is sharp and has a very nice setting. I think the image might be slightly overexposed. You might try either reconverting the image with less exposure to get back some detail in the chest or use levels or curves to bring the lighter colors down. This is a nice image but I just think that you might be able to get even more out of it. Well done.
Thanks Lana , it was a little hot out of the camera and with my very limited PP skills , I tried in RSE to tone it down , I'll revisit the Raw file tonight and see if I can get a bit more out of it , thanks for your intuitive response , much appreciated
Cool image of this Hawk. I really like th ehead on stare and pose with raised foot. In addition to Lana's excellant suggestion, you may want to add a bit more contrast in the darker areas of the bird. I think your attemts to reduce the exposure and preserve the whites have given the rest of the image a slightly washed out look. Boosting the contrast a little should help.
