In my last visit to Ecuador I found this beauty sitting on this perch. I had dreamed for long time of this bird. Finally I saw it.
This is a female, males have a slightly larger beak and their breast feathers are more uniform green.

    For this one

    Mark IV
    600f/4@f/4
    ISO 1600
    SS 1/60sec.
    Tripod
    Fill flash

    Many thanks for looking.

Congratulations on your dream becoming a reality Juan! I like the composition, perch, visible little feet and image is sharp where it needs to be. Light was challenging but you did a great job with the flash. What a long beak!

Stunning bird Juan Carlos. Congrats on getting "the" shot.
Love the perch and the BG.
The light looks like it was very low and I think you handled it very well with the techs you chose and your PP.
I would tone down the highlights in the moss on the LHS of frame

Nice picture of your dream bird, Juan. The perch looks a little overexposed.

Killer frame, JC. Love the green BG and the perch (although agree on the highlights). What an amazing bird.
