I thought I would mix it up a bit again and post another apex predator. This one from the northern polar regions. Taken in the waters north of Svalbard, Norway in August 2014 but processed now.

    1/1600
    f5.6
    ISO 1600
Monopod from moving boat, slight crop for comp, luminosity mask, levels, curves, selective color adjustments, selective burning of snow, sharpened in CCPS.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

    Classic frame Rachel.
I like this very much as is, no suggestions from me. Great tones!

Hi Rachel, great image as usual. All sits, who would have doubt? Now I would try to another thing in this image just for the fun pulled it over. Brightened the water a tad, was selective on the PB face and took out the "vignette in the FG right and left corners.
Maybe you like it that way. Just a hint what can be done more, if you like.

    Have a great day

    Ciao

Love the heads up pose here Rachel, nice exposure and overall colour and like the Anette's RP for eliminating the slight vignette.

Hi Rachel good you throw in a predator from the icy environments .
The OP is already very good in terms of color /contrast and tones . Well done ! Nice comp , too.
Anette took it up a slight notch .

Thanks Morkel, Anette, Steve, Marc and Andreas for the comments. Anette, I like what you've done but would probably leave the darker blue of the water.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Just a beautiful specimen. I too like the darker tones in the OP.

I am late to the party.
Lovely image and I too prefer the Op with the vignetting corrected.
Love the whites and blues in this image,
    Gail

Hi Rachel, lovely detail and exposure on the Polar Bear, and with good eye contact. I like how the image is split between sea and ice.
