Hi Shantanu, I think the two main issues with the image is, the SS is too low, perhaps a minimum of 1/500 with the 100-400 lens, so you needed to up the ISO. As these animals tend to appear and then disappear, having a high SS is always good. Secondly the overall look appears to be off, although you do have the correct colour profile sRGB. It basically looks too saturated/warm. Also, adding some more sharpening helps although at this size it's had to tell without seeing the RAW if that is all it needs. Hard to be exact on the laptop, but just trying to adjust the WB & some colours in HSL helps I think based on your OP, but if you have the time I would suggest you revisit the RAW to see if you can refine things more.
The attached is just my interpretation in the direction I think it could go, hope it helps.
I would love to see these beautiful animals someday.
I think Steve has addressed the main issues that I had ie. too much saturation.
It is unfortunate that there are so many grasses in front of the tiger but you got lucky that none crossed through the eye.

Hi Shantanu - Steve has covered the issues well and done a nice job on his rp in showing you a direction to go. You definitely needed some more ss here. Don't forget to include camera, lens and focal length if zoom in the EXIF data. It helps people to give tips for improving in the field.
Hi Shantanu - I too have little to add in lieu of Steve's thorough critique and repost.
Must a be thrill to see these majestic cats in the wild! Keep plugging at it - if you incorporate the critique you are getting here you will see your processing and your in-the-field choices improving before you can blink!
I agree with Steve and the others. This pictures lacks in both techs and as a special moment. For me this one goes in the bin, in contrast to your previous post where I think you captured a special moment.
