    Default Little Corella

    Attached Images Attached Images

Flight shot of a very common Australian parrot (Little Corella / Cacatua sanguinea) taken over open water at my local wetland during a scorching hot (45 deg C in shade) summer afternoon. These birds congregate in large flocks up to a hundred or more and is quite a sight when they all come in for a drink. Canon 1DIV, 600 f4 IS + 1.4TC, f8, ISO 500, 1/2500, EV -1 on tripod with Wimberley II. Basic workup and resizing / sharpening in CS6. Critique welcome.

    Gerhard:

Excellent full up wing position, well exposed whites, nice slight angle towards us in the frame to show both wings well. Muted background works well.

    Cheers

Great flight shot: good exposure on whites and subtle colors, terrific wing position and head turn, good light, nice bg.
