In the middle of a dense primary amazon forest, we came across this inhabited hollow tree. The locals couldnt tell me the species but I am guessing they are predators of some sort

Cropped vertical. Usual levels and contrast and applied selective sharpening to subject. Removes some highlights from flash with low opacity clone brush and darkened background slightly
Hi Shane - Nice to see something a bit different. Interesting to see the markings on the back too. I might have gone a little higher with ISO to get a faster ss even though you were using flash. The head looks like there might have been some movement though slight.

Thanks guys and appreciate the comments. Peter I asked the locals if this was a Vampire and they said it wasn't but they didn't know the exact species.
Rachel I took about 50 shots and they all came out pretty badly due to me working pitch black conditions with bat urine and allsorts falling on my head! Will keep that in mind for next time ;)
I try my best to comment as much as I can but spending so much time processing hundreds of Peru images at the moment its crazy. Will comment on further images over the next few days
