    I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve last Friday morning. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 400mm (600mm FFE)
    1/1600 F/5.6 Matrix Metering +1 EV ISO 900
    Post processed in Lightroom 5 and Photoshop Elements 10

    Looks as though you had perfect muted light here and your exposure looks spot on. Nice to see the underwings so well lit. I just wish the bird were not slightly angled away.

    Joe the underside of this bird looks about perfect to me, when I'm next out and about I will try for a few flight shots.

    Beautiful bird...the Tricolored Heron is my favorite of the herons. A fully raised wing and body angling our way would have made for a stronger image, but I love the trailing legs and the compact "S" shape of the neck. Sharp too.
