Gull BIF practice
I enjoy gulls, so practicing my BIF work with them is no hardship...
Taken on 8 Dec 14; Nikon D7100; 70-200 F2.8; full manual settings at ISO 400 / 1/1250 sec / focal length 130 / pattern metering / cropped with some minor editing in LR

I like the soft light and fanned tail feathers. Sharpness could be better; this could be caused by not-aggressive-enough sharpening in LR, by image softness at the time of capture, or by some combination of the two. Your shutter speed seems adequate, but your DOF at f/2.8 is marginal. Next time around I would go for a minimum of f/4, and push your ISO a little higher. I'll let others comment on exposure, head angle, and composition.

It is a good shot, I know how difficult to get a shot of flying birds....

Thanks for your kind response...they are very hard to shoot accurately...your shot is not bad at all!

Thank you Doug...I try to keep my ISO as low as possible to eliminate noise which I seem to get when shooting with this lens and camera body...it was also extremely overcast but take your comments on board, but for my eyes, I think it is one of the sharper shots I have taken.
Thanks again
